David Geffen School of Medical School
                                                (UCLA)

The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA has in a little more than 60 years grown to become an internationally recognized leader in medical education, research, patient care and public service. It is a remarkable achievement for an institution that is among the youngest of the most elite medical schools in the country. The city of Los Angeles is arguably one of the most exciting cities in the nation. The weather couldn't be better most days out of the year, and there really is something for everyone. Whether you are a film buff, an artist, a foodie, a sports fan, or an outdoor enthusiast you can find a comfortable or suitable position in life or employment here. The requirements for getting in to this school is a bachelor's degree generally is required, students who have completed three years of undergraduate school sometimes are considered. While coursework in both humanities and Spanish are "highly recommended," the school requires completion of one year each in English, college physics, biology and mathematics, including calculus and statistics. Two years of college chemistry — quantitative analysis and both organic and inorganic chemistry — also are required.
Prospective students are encouraged to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) in the spring, and no later than the September before the academic year to which they are applying. UCLA does not accept transfer students during the academic year.
